Shamballa is not a myth. It is a city of Light. It was formed in the second manvantara. Shamballa is very much a part of our earth but exists in a subtler level invisible to the naked eye. In the Aryavartha Valley, it exists in the form of a floating globe of light with land in it. It was in the Gobi desert earlier and now it is located in the Bhutan region.

The city of Shamballa was created primarily for the Rishis but later it was also extended to avatars, deities and special souls for various purposes. After its creation, Markandeya Maharishi has guided a lot of Rishis to settle down in this sacred place. In order to guide the people of Shamballa, rulers had to be chosen. Great souls were chosen as the rulers of Shamballa. They were named as the Maitreyas of Shamballas. There are around 5 - 6 Maitreyas in Shamballa, which includes Lord Maitreya himself who is the king of Shamballa and Lord Kalki. Lord Kalki is the highest Maitreya of Shamballa and he has been guiding people who are aligned with his energies. The Maitreyas are assigned work pertaining to different worlds including our earth.

Love and oneness prevail throughout Shamballa. The citizens of Shamballa carry light. Light being their very driving force, guides them to do their daily routine. They diligently follow the laws and principles of Shamballa. There is no non-love in Shamballa. Every nook and corner is filled only with love. The specialty of Shamballa is the oneness that the people hold. They are very wise and powerful, highly creative and are ever ready to help the world. They are believed to be young and beautiful. The city of Shamballa is said to be in golden colour and so are the people living there. The city is considered to be an ideal city, devoid of any negativity of any order. Due to its powerful protection ring, not an iota of negativity can enter Shamballa.

The doorways of Shamballa are open to the realised beings. It is the house for all chiranjeevis or the immortals. Some people believe that Kailash is the gateway to Shamballa. Many Tibetans were seen to be continuously chanting ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ during their circumambulation in order to gain access to these sacred energies.

Access to Shamballa is one of the most researched topics/practices among the scholarly and the spiritual. Life on earth thrived, so also unrighteousness, thus Shamballa slowly became inaccessible to the commoners. Layers and layers of protection in terms of light and energies were formed surrounding Shamballa. It does not mean that it is closed forever for anyone to enter. When a person becomes pure at all the levels, he stands eligible to enter Shamballa. It is also true that one cannot enter Shamballa either physically or astrally unless and until there is a need or a call from the Divine. There can be no random entries. The laws are strict and the gates are firm.
