Surya Namaskar
Sun is the main source of prana - the very source of life. Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation is a yogic exercise designed to channelise and assimilate this prana shakthi abundantly into our body. It makes the body a perfect receptor of energies. In Gurukulas, initially only yogasanas and Surya Namaskars were taught because, for a healthy mind, it is essential to have a healthy body.
Surya Namaskar comprises 12 asanas. More than a physical exercise, it is a very powerful kriya that involves appropriate inhalation and exhalation with complete focus. It revives the entire nadi system - both physical and subtle. It revitalises the physical, vital and mental bodies altogether. Regular and effective practice of Suryna Namaskar takes care of all our health problems and also supports our daily meditations tremendously.
